DePaul's commitment to diversity was evident in everything the team saw and heard. The Office of Institutional Diversity is one of DePaul's greatest strengths. It has accomplished much over the past 10 years, but realizes that there is still much to do.

VICE PRESIDENT'S WELCOME

As DePaul University extends its services and mission into the 21st century, diversity is clearly one of the greatest resources that will define our success in the future.  DePaul believes, as part of its basic core values that a diverse workforce and educational environment are directly related to the success of the institution and is essential in preparing students to participate effectively in the diverse workplace of today.

The population trends that are facing the state of Illinois and our nation are changing the face and texture of our university and our surrounding environments. We must respond proactively to these changes.
As we embrace diversity, and the god given dignity of each individual, let us remember that each and every one of us brings unique talents, skills, and ideas that combined together will help DePaul meet the challenges of a new work force and student population.  Let us rejoice in our uniqueness, celebrate our commonalties as well as our differences and work together to truly fulfill our unique Catholic Vincentian mission. Collectively, we enrich the work and academic environment at DePaul with new solutions, ideas, and diverse perspectives.  This is the strength of our institution and what makes us unique.  As always, we at the Office of Diversity are proud to be part of this process and look forward to working with all of you to make a difference for our students, our workforce, and the region.
